Introducing “Aburasoba (oil soba) Shugetsu Nakahiro Branch”.
A famous restaurant in Hiroshima City where you can eat seafood tsukemen is “Tsukesoba Shuichi” in Asaminami Ward. The owner of this restaurant trained at “Shuhei”, a branch of az-earth Co., Ltd. in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
“Aburasoba Shugetsu Nakahiro Branch” is a franchise store of the Shugetsu brand of az-earth Co., Ltd.The Shugetsu brand also has stores in Hong Kong, Thailand, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Slovakia.
When you enter the restaurant, you will find yourself in a long, narrow space that resembles a bed of eels.
Oil soba is said to be fast, inexpensive, and healthy (low in calories?) food. However, I don’t share this view at all, so I rejected the signature menu item, oil soba.
Of course, I chose “Tsuke-soba,” which may have a slightly higher cost.
The amount of noodles is 200g (medium), 300g (medium), 400g (large), or 500g (large), and all are priced at 900 yen. I chose the 500g tsuke-soba. You can choose between flat or thick noodles, but I went with the default, thick noodles.
The wheat-scented homemade noodles are still good, but with the rising price of wheat due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and other factors, one wonders what will happen in the future…. I was worried about whether the amount of homemade noodles and dipping sauce would be enough.
I was disappointed to see the colander hidden under the mega portion of noodles, but my heart and stomach were filled with relief that there was enough dipping sauce!
